For years, I've been saying I need to make a compost heap. I balked at the expense of purchasing one of the big plastic bins, so I kept putting off purchasing one of those. I saw instructions on how to make a bin using discarded pallets, but our cars are too small to lug those home. Last weekend we trecked to Southern Indiana to Leane & Michael's Sugarbush for their 2009 Maple Syrup Festival (http://www.lmsugarbush.com/ourfestival.html). It took us about an hour's pleasant drive to get there through winding hilly country roads (after we got off I65). We parked in a muddy field and bundled up against the biting wind.
