Use of Profanity
Please refrain from extreme profanity. Temper your words to something you would be comfortable saying in front of your children or parents.
Trolling
Trolling is not tolerated on this forum. From wikipedia, “A troll is a person who enters an established community such as an online discussion forum and intentionally tries to cause disruption, often in the form of posting messages that are inflammatory, insulting, incorrect, inaccurate, or off-topic, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others.” Passionate debate is fine. A person who starts a disproportionate number of fights may be banned; this is up to the discretion of the moderators and admin.
Copying and Pasting
Do not copy and paste an entire thread from this forum to another forum. Do not copy and paste entire threads from other forums to this forum. If you need to reference a post, paraphrase and provide a link.
Use of the Edit Feature
Do not edit the entire context of your posts with the edit feature. It is acceptable to edit your posts to add a comment, correct spelling errors, etc. However, do not change the context of your post and do not delete your entire post.
Private Messages
This site allows you to private message other members of the community. Please do not post private messages anywhere on the boards. They are “private messages” for a reason and should remain private. If you receive a private message which causes you concern, please feel free to share that information with a moderator or admin.
Blatant Verbal Attacks on Another Member’s Child
This is difficult to define and will be up to the discretion of the moderators and admin.
Personally Identifying Information
You may not share personal information such as a person’s last name, place of employment, telephone number, home address, etc without that person’s permission. This rule applies to the board as well as to PM’s.
