Hope all is well after Sunday's storm with everyone. We had minimal damage to our roof and we've been out of power since 11:30 am Sunday. Luckily we had a small generator to keep our fridge and deep freeze going. And we have a gas stove and water heater. So, for us the worst part was no internet. We went to bed early most nights and sat up to drink beer by candlelight on the others. I feel like I'm back to civilization after a backpacking trip with all this electricity. Although, I'm still sitting in the dark for some reason. Anyway, I hope everyone is safe after all of this. --Christy

We were without power for over a week. It SUCKED. We lost everything in our refrigerator that we weren't able to eat. Luckily, my ex still had power and he offered to let us store our freezer goods in there so we saved most of the stuff I've been freezing from our csa share.

We have a gas stove as well, but we could only figure out how to light the burners. The oven itself wouldn't light because it has some kind of electronic safeguard stuff we couldn't figure out how to bypass. So we ate grilled pizza, lol.

Here are some photos I took the first night when we went for a little walk around the 'hood. Our house was fine - we lost minimal branches.

Wow. Seeing all the destruction the past couple of weeks makes me realize how lucky we are. There were so many close calls with people that I've talked where they could have been seriously hurt and/ or had their homes destroyed. Most say that they had minimal damage considering the number of big trees that actually came down around them. Thanks for sharing. Welcome to civilization again, Tina!
