Hey y'all. I have an organization question here. We have at least dozen (or more?) pairs of leggings and yoga-type pants for Brynn (she's almost 3yo, to give you an idea of the size we're talking about), but we don't have a dresser in her room. Last year, I used a basket on her closet shelf to hold leggings, but we have so many more this year than we did last year because she has to wear pants to school that she can take off and on by herself (for potty purposes) and we dont want to risk an accident with zippers/snaps/buttons/etc.

Aaaaanyway, I can't figure out a good way to keep track of the leggings. When they are in the basket, it's too hard to take a quick look and see what our choices are, but it also seems a little silly to hang EVERY single pair with a hanger.

Any brilliant solutions??!

You could try an over the door shoe rack, the kind with pockets. We have a clear one, and use it to hold all sorts of stuff (shoes, soccer shinguards, soccer socks, sidewalk chalk, belts ...) Kids shoes are so small that you can usually fit both of them in one pocket, and the one we have has a lot of pockets. Caleb can reach the lower ones to put things up and get them out, but I can also use the top ones for things I don't want him to have free range access to.

I like the over-the-door shoe bag idea. Caleb doesn't have a dresser either, so I hang his shirts and then all his pants, pajamas, and underwear are in a hanging sweater bag.

It can get a little jumbled when Caleb goes digging through it but it's nice that he can get all his clothes out himself. Especially since he's become very picky about what he wears.

We have one of the things April is describing. it works quite well. I found it at TRU a few years ago.

I'm chiming in late on this, but we got a mesh laundry hamper thingy at Walgreens for something like 2.50.   It just pops up.  We got two, and we use one for those legging-type things, and the other for doll clothes.  It's wide enough that it's easy to rummage around in, and shallow enough that she can reach into it too.
